Startup Idea
Problem:
There are millions of unused domain names that receive substantial visitor traffic. Domain owners attempt to monetize these domain names with pay per click ads.
Idea:
Create a targeted advertising network solely for domain names. Most ad networks cater to developed websites only. Existing ‘domain parking’ solutions serve Google ads, but Google is passing along pennies to the domain owners.
How I Would Move this Idea Forward Today:
✔ I would hop on domain name forums like Namepros.com and DNforum.com.
✔ I would open a dialogue about what parking solutions these people use and what they do and don’t like about them. I’d ask if they are open to an alternate solution.
✔ If yes, I’d mock up some screen shots of what the service might look like. I’d put the mockups in a free Google Forms site and leave a spot for users to leave their email address.
✔ Direct people to the Google Form and start building a list of interested domain owners.
✔ Start reaching out to advertisers, one by one, and tell them you have targeted traffic you can send to them for less than they pay Google for AdWords bids. Start with one niche, like dating or real estate for example.

A Great Quote
Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.
One Piece of Advice
How to Prove Demand Without Having a Product
✔ Let’s say you’ve been writing about your expertise on LinkedIn and other social media, and you have generated a small following.
✔ Now you’re wondering if your audience is the type that might pay for a product you have in mind.
✔ You can find products that fit the needs of your audience at affiliate sites such as: CJ.com, ShareaSale.com, Amazon.com, RakutenMarketing.com and countless others.
An affiliate program: Companies allow you to post links to their products for sale, and you get a % of the sale if you bring them a buyer.
✔ Then, in a message or post to your audience, recommend a product that fits the problem they want solved. Many affiliate programs offer a discount or special offer you can provide your buyers.
So, when you’re ready to test demand, find an affiliate program and give it a shot.
