I bet you are stuck on how do I tell everyone?
The world is a big place.
You can’t possibly tell every person on the planet.
At least, not right now.
And, you need a critical mass of users to get this started.
Let me introduce you to…
⭐ Market Segmentation: ⭐
This concept is your best friend going forward.
With any idea you have.
Simply put:
✅ You have to find a small, targeted group of people that you can launch your idea with.
✅ Therefore, you need to segment a small section of the population and start talking with them.
✅ This should be a target group 👉 which you know well 👈 that would love what you’re working on.
✅ The more specific the better:
1️⃣ College students at your school that take business classes.
2️⃣ Busy moms in your area that have kids in sports.
3️⃣ Local parents of children with autism.
You can expand to world domination later.
But you can’t start there.
You have to start with a small group that you can easily reach.
✅ You need to make sure you can easily reach these people because you’re going to be talking with them, a lot.
More discussions will happen than you anticipate, because a startup’s first idea usually isn’t exactly what they take to market.
🤷♀️ Are You Sure About This?
Yes!
🤯 eBay started as a small auction marketplace for one specific niche’ of collectible. Pez dispensers.
How targeted is that?
They could have started with just collectors. Or even smaller… baseball card collectors.
But they started with a small group they knew VERY WELL and perfected their service.
🏫 Facebook started with college students, at Harvard only.
The founders of Facebook knew they could grow later, but they needed to start with a small group they could easily reach, and continually modify their product to fit the feedback they were receiving.
👉 So, when in doubt. Start small!
1️⃣ Pick a group you know very well.
2️⃣ Mockup an example of what you want to create and go talk to this group immediately.
3️⃣ This will be your launch group.
4️⃣ You can take their feedback and make changes and get ready to launch. 🚀
