Do you constantly have ideas?
Do you constantly have GOOD ideas?

Are you convinced you have an idea that could be a successful business if you only knew what to do next?

You may be correct.

Experienced entrepreneurs know exactly what to do after they get an idea that is worth pursuing.

🚶‍♂️They follow a pretty simple path. It’s below. This is what you should do.

👍 This has proven to be the correct method of moving forward.

✅ Market Research and Validation

First you need to spend some time researching the market you are looking to enter. You should: Define your target market and research current trends in the industry. Uncover consumer preferences and engage with potential customers to determine demand (if any) for your idea. You should analyze the competition and see where your product/solution fits into the competitive landscape.

✅ Refine your Idea

Take what you have learned to refine your idea. Does your current solution fill the needs you have uncovered? Does this seem like the answer customers are looking for? Is your product the same as 500 others on the market, or have you differentiated it enough to be appealing? What unique value does your product or solution offer that isn’t available to the public?

✅ Prototyping

Quickly, and cheaply, mock up samples or a landing page. Describe what you are trying to accomplish, and why buyers should care. Get the samples/mockup in the hands of potential buyers. Take their feedback to determine if you are on the right track.

👍 IF SO, continue.

👎 IF NOT, go back to the previous step (Refine your Idea).

✅ MVP Time

As quickly and cheaply as you can, create an MVP. An MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is a stripped down, base features version of your big vision product. It’s just enough to show buyers that you can solve the problems they face. It is the basic version of your solution. Put it in the hands of buyers and determine if you are still on the right track. Are they willing to pay for this?

✅ User Feedback

Gather feedback from the buyers of your MVP. What about it did they like? What about it was unnecessary? Are you on the right track of solving their entire problem? Maybe your MVP just solved part of it. That’s fine. Move forward if the feedback is positive. Go back to Idea Refinement and MVP if this isn’t the solution they are seeking.

If you’re on the right track, grow from there. 😁
