☝ Let’s talk about how people start something from nothing.

Entrepreneurship is frustrating.

We’ve all seen success stories of others and wondered, “How in the world does someone start a new venture from nothing”?

🚫 Before you give up, maybe we should start all over…

📃 Here is a quick 10-STEP list you can start today to move your idea forward.

• Define the problem you are solving.
  What is the clear need in the market you are addressing?
  

• Define your target market.
  Who will you solve this need for, and are they highly motivated to buy your solution?
  

• Who is the competition?
  Lists the main competitors and the unique value they bring to the market. Is there a gap in what they offer that you can fill?
  

• Where does your target market hang out?
  Online and in person. Identify where you can find them.
  

• Go talk with them. Maybe 5-10 people to start.
  Step 5 requires you to put yourself out there and get uncomfortable.
  Talk to these potential customers and verify if this problem you have found is REALLY their big problem.
  

• Analyze their feedback.
  Are they all saying the same thing? Are you hearing the same problems and issues in every conversation?

• Modify your idea.
  Change your value proposition to fit what the market (these customers) are telling you.
  

• Revenue models.
  Come up with a few revenue models. This is how you will deliver value to your users while making money.
  Could your product be a subscription? Some sort of custom product?
  Could it be a simple PDF where you share your expertise? A paid community?
  

• Create a simple landing page.
  You can use Google Forms (FREE) or a service like Bubble.
  Simply explain your value proposition and make sure you leave a spot to collect user contact info.
  

• Revisit your target market.
  Either online or in person. Direct them to the landing page and start collecting pre orders, expressions of interest and contact info.
  
  Bonus…

  
  

• Distribution.
  List 5 ways you can get this product to market now that you’ve proven it out.
  Social media, in person, trade shows, etc.
  Where can you find your customers and how will you reach them.
