The Answer: DISTRIBUTION (here’s how to do it) 👇👇

In today’s age of AI, anyone can build anything with basic coding knowledge and a few prompts. It’s getting wild, to be honest. Whatever you create today will be obsolete in 6 months. It is moving that fast.

How do you combat this?

Distribution is what will set startups apart going forward. If anyone can build amazing tech, the way people discover you is all that will matter. There will be 500 companies creating the same thing you are creating. But not all 500 companies will get traction — even the ones with a superior product won’t be the ones that get traction.

The companies that really nail distribution will succeed.

What do we mean by distribution?

Getting your product/solution in front of the right target audience via various channels available to you.

Target niche communities on social media. There’s a Reddit Group, Facebook Group and Twitter Group for every topic. Those are your people. Start contributing to the discussion there and build a reputation and a following. Do this NOW - before you even have an idea or a product. Your personal brand is huge — and you’ll build up major goodwill being a contributor.

Be sure to DM people and do some one-on-one conversations via Zoom. These conversations are GOLD! You’ll discover endless insights from these talks with your target customer — and you’ll want to do many more. I held 100 personal 1 on 1 conversations with members here at ValidatorAI.com and I learned a great deal about what you need.

Eventually, share your ideas and start exploring problems and solutions with some of the members. If you take your time, it won’t feel like you are ‘selling’. It’ll feel like a conversation. As you do this detective work, keep notes about what frustrations people have and where current solutions fall short. Remember, someone else is probably working on this problem — but they are doing it in secret (in private) and you are building your audience of potential customers first.

Try a Build in Public group. These are founders that share their startup journey. It’s a way to meet other creators and also continue to build your personal brand. Share your successes and frustrations there. There’s a good group on Twitter: Build in Public Community / X. Be sure to join all the startup founder, creator and tech groups as well and just make friends and meet people.

Once you have something to launch, this is where you share it:

I’d go to Reddit and target those niche groups but also a place like: Entrepreneur Ride Along on Reddit. This group has 500,000 people, all like you, working on ideas.

Share your project on Hacker News. This is where serious developers talk through their ideas and launches.

100% share what you are working on via your personal LinkedIn page. Be sure to tag people that you think might have interesting input. You need to build your personal following, starting right now. Also share your project on your personal Twitter profile.
