You Don’t Need a Groundbreaking Idea
You don’t need to be a code master or raise VC funding… you don’t even need a team.
👉 You just need to solve a small problem that people already search for online.
Below are a few simple niche sites pulling in thousands of dollars (some, tens of thousands) in ad revenue every month by ranking for high-volume Google searches and delivering value.
Some of these sites are only ONE PAGE!
Surprisingly Simple Sites Making Real Money
Each example includes:
Traffic estimates via tools like SimilarWeb.com | ahrefs.com and more.
Revenue estimates based on $10 CPM display ads.
CPM represents the cost per 1000 impressions of the ad. Most of these sites have multiple ads and the average revenue they pull in is likely in this range of $10 per 1000 views.
Top SEO keywords they rank for.
I want to show you that Google Search Volume is a great indicator of demand… it’s good validation!
And lastly,
We highlight the problem each site solves.
People search for online calculators… a lot.
This is more than a simple site, Omni Calculator has researchers and writers working for them. But this site is proof you can make serious money filling needs that people are Googling.
Traffic: 14.7M/month (my gosh!)
Revenue: ~$250,000+. There are ads everywhere! This site is absolutely making well into 6-figures per month.
Problem Solved: Solves real-life questions with over 3,700 calculators
Top Keywords and the number of times they are searched in Google each month:
"bmi calculator" – 1,200,000
"loan calculator" – 823,000
"calorie calculator" – 368,000
This site ranks in the top 5 for hundreds of search terms with huge volumes.
Wow.
⭐ The display ads for terms like ‘loan calculator’ pay much more than the standard CPM… and this site has hundreds of pages with high paying ads around finance, banking, loans, education etc.
Let’s quickly look at a few more sites…
2️⃣ WhatFontIs.com
Traffic: 1M/month
Revenue: ~$15,000/month
Problem Solved: Identifies fonts from images and recommends similar ones. Simple!
Top Keywords and the number of times they are searched per month in Google:
"font identifier" – 90,000
"what font is this" – 74,000
"font finder" – 122,000
They are making a lot of money - there are ads everywhere - even ads that pop up between screen loads.
Check the status of major sites to see if there is an outage.
People search for these terms a lot like: “is twitter down” or “is there a reddit outage” etc.
Traffic: 1.5M/month
Revenue: ~$25,000/month — this is a low estimate. They sell ads directly on their site and they have CPM ads via Google.
Problem Solved: Checks if a site is down just for you or for everyone
Top Keywords and the number of times they are searched per month on Google:
"is reddit down" – 187,000
"website down" – 246,000
"check website status" – 90,000
This one is too simple.
Calculate the sleep you get if you go to bed at a certain time and get up at a certain time.
It also tells you optimal times to go to bed and wake up.
Traffic: 500K-1M/month
Revenue: ~$10000+/month

This is a ONE PAGE site that has simple alarm clocks and timers.

The.
Heck.
Right?
🤷♂️ What’s up with people needing clocks and timers on their computer?
Well - this below should make you go crazy… 👇
Traffic: 2.8 million monthly visitors. YES. Seriously.
Revenue: ~$25,000+ per month.
Problem Solved: Gives users the ability to set a timer when they need it.
Top Keywords and the number of times they are searched in Google per month:
"alarm clock" – 237,000
“timer” — 3.7 MILLION monthly searches (and it’s the #2 spot on Google for the term)
"stopwatch" – 827,000 monthly searches and it’s #3 on Google for the term.
6️⃣ WheelofNames.com
This one will drive you crazy also.
Spin the wheel and it lands on a random name. That’s it.

Traffic: 6M/month!
SIX.

Revenue: ~$50,000/month
Problem Solved: People need to randomly pick names for raffles, students in a classroom etc.

"spin wheel" – 105,000
