📅 Day 4: We have our product. Now what?
In case you missed it, we’re simulating the startup journey with Pete, a guy who manages a sporting goods store.
Recap of day one: Pete’s Startup Journey Day 1
Recap of day two: Pete’s Startup Journey Day 2
Recap of day three: Pete’s Startup Journey Day 3
🙋♂️ Today Pete is going to show his audience his product ideas.
You can help him decide HOW to do that.
❎ The votes are in!
This is what you want the product to look like…
1️⃣ Which verification method should be used to confirm that buyers are real people?
✔ BOTH - have the buyer verify with both email and SMS
2️⃣ Should additional security steps be included in the checkout process to block bots?
✔ PHONE NUMBER confirmation
3️⃣ How long should the verification window last before the cart expires?
✔ FIVE minutes
4️⃣ Should we mention a PRE ORDER or DELAYED SHIPPING option for this platform?
✔ YES. Ask them if they like this idea
💡 Let’s quickly find out if customers like this idea and if they are willing to take these extra steps.
Let’s quickly vote on which validation method we want to try. We are going to talk to and survey customers to see if they would embrace our solution.
Let’s vote on which of these we want to try:
Landing Page with Sign-Ups: Create a simple landing page explaining the delayed checkout process, allowing users to sign up for updates or express interest. This would gauge demand based on sign-up rates.
Aron’s note: This enables us to gather emails and signups right there on the spot!
Customer Survey: Conduct a targeted survey on platforms like Reddit or Discord, asking sneakerheads how they’d feel about the delayed checkout system.
Aron’s note: This also enables us to get immediate feedback. I like the idea of gathering people OFF of social media so we capture their contact info. What do you think?
In-Store or In-Person Interviews: Pete could directly speak with sneakerheads in stores or at events to collect real-time feedback on the solution.
Aron’s note: I like in person conversations when diving into problems. I still want a way to capture contact info. I wonder if pitching an idea in person is more intrusive than what we did before - which was just exploring pain points. Thoughts?
